Course Objectives:
- 1. (understand)Students can describe what a linear program and a constraint satisfaction problem is and can describe their elements.
- 2. (understand)Students can solve linear optimisation and constraint satisfaction problems by hand.
- 3. (understand)Students can analyse the computational complexity of a given type of linear programming or constraint satisfaction model.
- 4. (understand)Students can evaluate which type of modelling language or formalism is most appropriated for a given problem.
- 5. (understand)Students can implement methods for automatically solving linear programs and constraint satisfaction problems.
- 6. (understand)Students can model technical and real-world problems as linear programs and constraint satisfaction problems (or specialized CS problems, e.g., SAT).
